Spence Adams Sentenced to 32 Years
Spence Adams found Guilty of Manslaughter
On Thursday, January 17, 2013, a jury of 12 found Spence Adams guilty as charged, of Manslaughter.
The incident occurred on January 22, 2012 at 12:00 noon in Belle Pointe Subdivision. The victim, Eric Labranch, was shot by Spence Adams after a verbal altercation over a car stereo.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney, Bridget Dinvaut, and Assistant District Attorney, Orenthal Jasmin.
Spence Adams was sentenced by the Honorable Judge Sterling Snowdy on March 11, 2013 to 32 years with the Department of Corrections.
District Attorney Tom Daley stated, "this case is an example of the tragic result of gun violence amongst young people in our community. A young person is dead and another will spend most of his adult life in prison because of the use of a gun to solve a minor dispute. Parents, please work diligently to make sure young people leave guns alone!"
