Curtis Mazique Receives Jail Time for Unpaid Child Support

     On October 5, 2012, Curtis Mazique, age 36 of Reserve, Louisiana was arrested in Court after being found in contempt.  The Honorable Judge Mary Hotard Becnel sentenced Mr. Mazique to six (6) months in jail for failing to support his children after having received a sum of $72,222.11 from a personal injury settlement, which his attorney's testified to that day.  Mazique testified that he used the money to pay other debts. 

    Mr. Mazique can purge his sentence by paying the sum of $33,000.00, which represents the amount of past due support he owes on his two child support cases.  The case was handled by Assistant District Attorney Kim Laborde.
