St. John Parish Jury convicts Rodney Mason Jr.

A St. John Parish Jury convicted Rodney Mason Jr. age 20 of 374 Fig St. Garyville, Louisiana, of armed robbery and attempted armed robbery. The jury which consisted of 5 men and 7 women found Mason guilty after deliberating for 2 and a half hours in connection with the July 2006 armed robbery of the Old Tyme Saver located at 1724 Carrollwood Laplace, Louisiana and attempted armed robbery of a customer inside of the store.

The 2 day trial was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney George Ann Graugnard and District Attorney Thomas Daley. Prosecutors presented fingerprint, DNA, and video evidence to the jury. Mason was represented by Attorney Willard Brown. Mason faces up 10 to 99 years on the armed robbery conviction and 5 to 50 years on the attempted armed robbery conviction. Honorable Judge Sterlin Snowdy presided over the trial.
